1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include “local storage” (data your browser keeps for a site) and the session storage of a single tab. We call all of them “cookies” below.
2. Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept all cookies or essential cookies only. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work and are set either way. Optional cookies are set only after you accept them. You can change your choice at any time with the link in the footer. Your choice is kept for 12 months.
3. Essential cookies
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
rightcliniq-session | Keeps your session: search state, sign-in for clinic managers and administrators, and whether you have unlocked a clinic’s contact details in this visit. | 120 minutes of inactivity, or until you close the browser |
XSRF-TOKEN | Security token that protects forms and the enquiry API against cross-site request forgery. | Same as the session |
rc_consent | Records the cookie choice you made in the banner (“all” or “essential”) so we do not ask again. | 12 months |
remember_web_… | Set only when a clinic manager or administrator ticks “remember me” at sign-in. | Up to 2 weeks |
4. Browser storage (essential)
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
rc.visitor (local storage) | Keeps the name, email and phone you typed into a contact form so you do not have to re-type them for the next clinic. Stored in your browser only; it is sent to us only when you submit a form. | Until you clear your browser data |
5. Optional cookies
The Directory currently sets no optional cookies. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in future to understand which searches and pages are most useful, those cookies will be listed here first and will only be set after you choose “Accept all” in the banner.
6. Third-party content
Map tiles on clinic pages are loaded from a map provider, which sees the request for the tile images (including your IP address) but does not set cookies through our pages. “Get directions” and “Connect on WhatsApp” open third-party services in a new tab, where their own cookie policies apply.
7. Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in, the enquiry forms and the contact-reveal feature from working.
