1. The service
RIGHTCLINIQ (the “Directory”) is a free public directory of healthcare clinics in Canada operated by Brightsquid Secure Communications Corp. (“Brightsquid”). It lets you search clinics, view their public business details and send them an enquiry. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the agreement between you and Brightsquid.
2. Not medical advice, not an emergency service
The Directory provides information about clinics only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, does not book appointments and does not confirm that a clinic offers a particular service or is accepting patients. In an emergency call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. Enquiry forms are not monitored for urgent matters.
3. Accuracy of listings
Listings are compiled from public sources, from clinics and from Brightsquid’s records, and are reviewed before publication. Details change, and we cannot guarantee that every listing is complete, current or error-free. Always confirm hours, services and location with the clinic. Badges mean the following:
- Secured by Brightsquid: the clinic has an active Brightsquid Secure-Mail subscription, confirmed from Brightsquid’s own records.
- Verified listing: the listing details were reviewed by the Directory team or confirmed by the clinic itself.
- Listings without a badge show supplied information that has not yet been confirmed.
Badges describe how the listing was confirmed. They are not an endorsement of a clinic’s clinical quality and do not mean Brightsquid has assessed the clinic’s services.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, harvest or bulk-download listings, phone numbers or other content, by hand or by automated means, except through an export that Brightsquid has expressly authorized;
- send spam, marketing or abusive messages to clinics through the enquiry forms, or submit false contact details to unlock phone numbers;
- submit a listing or claim a clinic you are not authorized to represent, or publish false or misleading information;
- interfere with the site’s security, probe or test its vulnerabilities without written permission, or circumvent rate limits and access controls;
- use the Directory in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights.
We may block, rate-limit or remove access and content that we reasonably believe breaches these terms.
5. Enquiries and contact details
When you send an enquiry or reveal a clinic’s contact details, you confirm that the details you provide are your own and accurate, and you consent to their use as described in the Privacy Policy. Enquiries are passed to the clinic you selected; Brightsquid does not control how or whether a clinic responds. Do not include health information in enquiries.
6. Clinic listings and accounts
- Eligibility. Listings are for licensed healthcare clinics and practices operating in Canada. Non-clinical businesses may be declined or removed.
- Authorization. By submitting, claiming or editing a listing you confirm you are authorized by the clinic to do so and that the information is accurate. Claims are verified before an account is linked to a listing.
- Review. Submissions and change requests are reviewed by the Directory team, which may edit for format, decline, or request supporting information. Approved changes may be locked so that automated data refreshes do not overwrite them.
- Public descriptions. Text you supply for your public listing must be truthful, must not include superlatives or claims you cannot substantiate (for example “best”, “guaranteed”, “painless”), and must follow your professional college’s advertising rules.
- Enquiries you receive contain personal information of visitors. You agree to use them only to answer the enquiry and to protect them in line with applicable privacy and health-information law.
- Accounts. Keep your password confidential and notify us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
- Removal. A clinic may ask for its listing to be unpublished at any time through its account or the privacy contact.
7. Intellectual property
The Directory’s design, software, text and compiled database are owned by Brightsquid or its licensors and are protected by copyright and database rights. RIGHTCLINIQ and Brightsquid names and logos are trademarks of Brightsquid. Clinic names and logos remain the property of the respective clinics. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Map tiles are provided by third parties under their own licences, credited on the map.
8. Third-party links and services
Listings link to clinic websites, map directions and, where offered, WhatsApp. Those services are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies, and Brightsquid is not responsible for them.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Directory is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brightsquid disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brightsquid is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on listing information, from a clinic’s response or non-response to an enquiry, or from the acts of any clinic. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to CAD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer-protection law, including in Quebec.
11. Indemnity (clinics)
A clinic that submits or manages a listing agrees to indemnify Brightsquid against claims arising from content it supplies or from its handling of enquiries received through the Directory.
12. Changes and termination
We may change or discontinue the Directory or these terms at any time. Updated terms take effect when posted, with the effective date shown above; material changes are announced on the home page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your province or country of residence.
